- What is your general subject? Water
- What is your focus or narrowed topic? Water Quality
- What do you plan to support/argue for? Industrial agriculture is among the leading causes of water pollution in the United States today. Laws that are in standing should be better enforced and more implemented on its usage and conservation.
- What have you looked at so far (sources) and how useful do you think they will be and why?
Communications Foundation
- What are your next steps if this topic is approved? What would be the next steps in the writing and research project next week? How water is used in energy production, agriculture and consumer products, and on improved management of our water resources, systems, and enforcement of policies that protect our water.I will then use what I have researched compare my sources to obtain and produce the most accurate information regarding my argument that more should be done to control how water life's most necessary ingredient to sustain life.
- What difficulties do you see at this time in moving forward with the research process?i have not done enough research nor do i have a better understanding of aquatic law.

as an american adult with a very busy schedule i have little time to prepare my own food and meals.Being 24, an active college student, office receptionist and father i buy lots of pre prepared and fast foods.i often wonder wher it comes from and who makes sure its safe enough for us to eat? i got an answer todayin my current english class from a passage titled "is americas food supply safe?" and found that an agency known as the F.D.A employs people who are themselves titled inspectors.these inspectors are dedicated to inspecting our food supply. The F.D.A - also known as the food and drug administration - work with food companies both domestically and internationally to do everything they can to protect not only our food but our physical and mental well being and our immune health. both on and off shore they work to find how a problem such as contamination, disease, poisoning, and many other life threatening elements is started, fit it and prevent it from ever happening again.
but even with 625 investigators working out of twenty different offices all across the country using the most modern up to date scientific techniques available, contamination still often occurs though most cases arent as publicly known as they should be we learn that there are still recent recalls of beef with mad cow disease, E. coli in spinach and salmonella in peanut butter prove that no matter the measures taken to prevent these viruses and bacterias in our food, our food is only as safe as our food processing companies, suppliers, butchers and parcel delivery companies employees are.if an employee isnt following procedure or protocol such as safety and sanitary measures, contamination can and will always be inevitable. i believe that our employees should also undergo either annually or bi anually depending on the number of employees and frquency of turnovers trainings and simple test on the importance and mandated laws and regulations to follow all aspects of the measures taken to prevent these things from happenng.

The fast food industry like technology has come a long way since its beginning. One thing that has remained the same though is who their marketing strategies are targeting, which are, our youth. This industry also has a major effect on our economy and how it is kept up. Since the invention and production of cars and highways made it easier for people to travel, they found they can get more done in a day and well got things done. But cooking and cleaning at home are not always possible with this kind of lifestyle, so one day a man decided to sell hot dogs from a cart on the side of one of Americas first roadways, non the wise to knowing that he would be paving the way for the fast food industry which was speeding its way in to our lives. That mans name Carl N. Karcher. Although not the actual creator of all fast food, he is one of the industries pioneers, a man who's beliefs and self convictions changed the way people who run similar businesses such as McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger king and Carl's Jr restaurants.
One of his ideas were to run a fast food restaurant as if it were an automotive assembly line. Others included hiring teenage employees who were attracted to the easy paying jobs, joining in on the profit margin of Walt Disney cartoon characters and toys, creating an image for McDonald and making a mascot to attract more customers and keep them from "cradle to the grave". back then all these things looked a hopeful and strong industry. Now though, our children suffer from obesity, families whose members must work two separate shifts in order to keep up with ends meat, and an industry whose operators and administrators only care about profit. The idea of fast, hot and ready and affordable dining is enticing to millions of people worldwide. But many of us do not know how or where our food comes from, who thinks of and creates advertisements, who runs these corporations and franchises and who makes sure what we are eating is safe for us to be eating.
Things have changed in this industry over the years companies have gone from grilling burgers one at a time to 20 at a time on conveyor belts in flash cookers known as microwaves and industrial grade conventional ovens. Milkshakes are made in machines designed to perfectly craft your favorite flavor milky treat. Even cash registers are as simple as pressing two buttons and your financial aspect of the transaction is over. Although things are a lot more convenient on both consumer and business young teens and young adults are still lead to believe they have a fighting chance working for these corporations and not learning anything but the one assignment they've been told to complete with no real chances of advancement or growth, children are still enticed by cunning marketing schemes and cheap toys sold for dollar to make our children believe they have to have them, people are actually dying from food related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart attacks and the list goes on.
The fast food industry for some is full of profitable opportunities, as it were for some of the above mentioned names earlier, but for us hard working people who is it really benefiting who is it really "looking out" for? We should stop paying for this fast food and start paying for higher education, more preschools for our children who will grow up and replace all of us the leaders the consumers the "suits" and teach them what good health really is and how to put money back into our economy without slowly killing ourselves and our pockets. These are just my own opinions on how we should feel about fast food and its whole industry but unless we really make a change there will always be cause and effect. animal slaughter will continue in run down warehouses ran by illegal residents who have never been trained a day in their lives
to handle, cut and produce our food.
In the end yes this industry has its negatives but also alot of positives such as it does actually bring in jobs to the neighborhoods the businesses themselves open in. They do help bring in money to our economy in a whole and they also help bring family and friends who have little time to be social together and enjoy time and well lets face it great tasting food together. So what im saying is in a whole is that the fast food industry is almost as its founders and current leaders, human, neither too bad or alot of good but it has its uses it mishaps and well if you dont like spending your money on food that's flashed cooked and frozen then stay out of the restaurants same as if you don want to suffer from health related issues due to a poor diet eat better eat less and drink water.
